There's not many books that grab my attention from the first page,but Calix deinately is one of them! I found myself gripped, I couldn't put the book down. I felt for the main characters as if I knew them. The way the story is written really makes you feel like you're living through all the same adventures. Calix is not for the faint hearted. Extremely great story telling, really captures your imagination. A must read for all the Fantasy/Horror fans out there. Don't miss out on one of the greatest stories ever!

I was going to save this book to read while on my holiday in jamaica next month, i just thought i`d read the prologue then put it away. What a mistake that was, i just couldn`t put it down and had it read in about two and a half hours. It is very well written in that you can usually work out whats going to happen but not in this case with the twists and turns. An absolutely fantastic read, it should be a best seller. It,s price is great too.

I cannot agree more with the previous reviews. Once you pick this one up you won't be able to put it down til you've finished it - a real page turner. Ray creates vivid images with consumate ease, I found it more like watching a supernatural suspense thriller than reading. The characterisation is very realistic, I found myself empathising with the main characters from the beginning. I loved the fact that careful attention has been given to the lore and legend that forms the backdrop to the story. What more can I say?... Superb!
