This is one of the best books I've ever read. I enjoyed it so much I am reading it again and have also bought my daughter a copy.This book draws you into the story in such a way that you really feel you are living the experience and never want to leave 'the old place' on top of the moors. The characters are so real you begin to feel as if you know them as are the areas they live in. Unforgettable.

My wife has read several Anna Jacobs books - Our Lizzy, Lancashire Lass, Farewell to Lancashire, Beyond the Sunset - to name a few and says that this is as good as any she has read
