One of the most comprehensive accounts of this largely forgotten action of WWII.
Not only is the lead up and frantic few days recounted well, there is a section which helps the modern day reader to identify locations as they are today and helpful ' memory trails. I bought this as replacement I have left with hotelier friend in Calais to redress the general lack of references to this action, even in Calais!
Oh - declared interest - the 'Man with the smoke blackened face' p.124 is my late father 6842934 Rfn. Crump AAF 2KRRC on his way to 5 years in Poland and a short lifetime of horrific memories, many of which went with him to his grave along with his contempt for Churchill.

A very informative book. The account of the battle was descriptive and easy to follow. Haven't had chance to try out the tours.
