Book Description

2 Jun 2011

Cake pops are the hot new thing in baking. A ball of cake, dipped in chocolate, lovingly decorated, and best of all... on a stick you can hold!

Get creative with these gorgeous little treats, which make the perfect gift. There are loads of different flavours, from classic chocolate to adventurous peanut butter. And when it comes to decorating, the sky is literally the limit, with everything from simple coloured balls to love hearts, animals and even fluffy clouds.

They are even cuter than a cupcake. And cake pops are as fun to make as they are a treat to eat. Ms 'Molly Bakes' is the UK's cake pop queen. Here she shares her foolproof recipes for making 50 different cake pops: each unique but all equally irresistibly delicious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Bunch 5 Jun 2011
Purchased this book in a bundle of three Cake Pop books. This was by far the best.
First it's geared towards the UK market with UK stockists (unlike another in the bundle)
Secondly has loads of very detailed and easy to follow instructions for popping (unlike another in the bundle)

Overall it's got great techniques, recipes and looks good too!

Cake on a stick? Yes Please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Popping!! 13 Jun 2011
I bought this book based on Alain's review which said it was the best of the bunch!
My book arrived today and I am DELIGHTED with it. It contains way more than I expected. Easy to read, good pictures, tricks, techniques and lots of recipies for different cakes and accommpanying frostings:

Vanilla cake with vanilla cream cheese frosting
Chocolate cake and chocolate frosting
Red velvet cake
Peanut butter cake & frosting
Toffee cake & frosting
Lemon cake and frosting

The recipies make 20 medium cake balls. It explains (with pictures) how to crumble the cake mix, add frosting, prepare the candy melts and inserting the sticks (good for novice poppers).

LOTS of brilliant designs from basic to complicated: cake balls, lovehearts, 3colour pops, marble pops, clouds, lightning bolts, presents, baubles, fat birds, tropical fish, lips, moustaches, vintage buttons (beautiful!), handbags, ice-cream cones, donut pops, tea party pops, slice of cake pops, sushi (!), flowerpots, sheep, chickens, giraffes, monkeys, poker chips, poker dice, wedding rose pops, rattle pops, teddies, alphabet blocks, clowns, big top, snowmen, christmas puddings, valentines hearts, easter egg pops, bunnies, pumpkins and skulls.

Happy popping!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible 2 April 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This book is just a collection of pictures of shockingly amateur cake pops that look as if they were made by school children as part of a cookery class. Even if one were to attempt any of these designs, if depending on the book it would be a struggle as there are no detailed instructions, only superficial descriptions coupled with a photo of the undesirable final outcome. I would not repurchase nor recommend.

This book is fantastic, worth it even just to look at the lovely pictures! its so easy to follow and all the ingredients are available from supermarkets unlike some of the american type cake pop books that talk in terms that we are not familiar with.

5.0 out of 5 stars cake pops? yes please! 15 Jun 2011
By Vale MK
I bought this fantastic book this week and I'm absolutely happy about it! It contains some recipes for different cakes and frosting, and circa 50 ideas for cake pops. The pictures are very nice and each recipe is well explained. But above all, I'm happy that the author uses weighs in kg and Celcius degrees, so at least, I should not waste time trying to convert every single measurement..

There are lots of useful tips and tricks in this book that I can't wait to try. Very pleased and highly reccommend to any baker who likes to experiment in the kitchen.

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG 5 Sep 2011
As a kitchen phobe I never imagined baking could be so much fun. I bought the book as a coffee table accessory but having been inspired to give the baking malarky a go I haven't looked back. Pretty pictures and easy to follow instructions make this book the perfect treat for any budding cake pop/ cupcake baker. Love Love Love it!!
