This collection of cake recipes is devoted to cakes that keep for more than a day without going stale and the keeping-time of each cake is clearly indicated at the end of each recipe although they are not in the keep-for-months category, the maximum is 5 days.
The recipes are clear and simple and most use easy to find ingredients. My personal favourites lie among the plain cakes such as the Everyday Yogurt Cake, Rhubarb Streusel Snacking Cake and the Orange Chocolate Chip Cake with Sour Cream Glaze. But every cake reads very enticingly. I felt spoilt for choice when I opened my copy.
The chapters are divided into: Snacking Cakes, Round Cakes,Loaf Cakes, Bundt Cakes, Crumb Cakes and Other Cakes Baked in a Springform Pan and Angel Cakes and Chiffon Cakes.
This is an American book and so uses American measurements and the occasional ingredient that might need special sourcing but nothing that presents too much of a problem.
My verdict: great recipes that are easy to make and even easier to eat.
