Carol Deacon began cake decorating by accident when a friend asked her to make a birthday cake. The idea of combining creativity with model making and something that also tasted great really appealed to her. Early designs won her gold medals in competitions and even a car in an icing competition run by a food magazine. Carol left her then job in advertising and worked for a year at Jane Asher's cake shop in Chelsea, London. Carol then went freelance and as well as running a succesful wedding cake business and writing books, Carol has designed and written for many food and cake magazines and has demonstrated her edible artistic skills in the UK, abroad and on TV. Carol has just begun running classes. If you are interested, you can find details on Amazon's Carol Deacon Page under "events".
