Product Description

Product Description
Meet Ian Freeman, extreme fighter. Incarcerated in a metal cage, his fights have no limits. He is a friend to keep close and an enemy to steer clear of, cross him and you will live to regret it. For Ian, violence is no glamorous profession, but a way of life. Determined to be able to defend himself whatever the challenge, Ian quickly establishes himself as an unbeatable force in the fighting art of Vale Tudo - Portuguese for "anything goes" - and rose to Britain's finest heavyweight Mixed Martial Arts fighter. This book tells the tale of one man's battle to win. Having championed justice on his own doorstep, defeated bullies, drug dealers and trouble makers, he has gone on to become a champion both in name and nature.

5.0 out of 5 stars incredible!!, 4 Sep 2004
By A Customer
This book is one of Blake's finest - apart from Being Jordan.
Wheatman is quickly becoming the daddy of crime books in the UK. Can't wait to read more from him - he's a name to look out for in the future.

Freeman is awesome - what more can be said about Britain's Hardest?

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 27 May 2007
I'm a big fan of mixed martial arts so was interested in what ian freeman had to say.

overall though, this book is disappointing. freeman gets beaten up by a gang of bully skinheads when he is a teenager...so he makes it his mission in life to be a bullying skinhead in a gang (bouncer). it's fair to say he isn't the sharpest tool in the box.

most of the book is taken up with how he beats up hundreds of people in pubs and clubs and it is very repetitive. it isnt until near the end that he touches on his MMA career. unfortunately he is very selective in what he tells us, there is no mention of the devasting losses he suffered while trying to make his name. it makes you wonder if he left out all the hammerings he received while working on the doors too.

also at the end, freeman tries to play the gangster as he tags along with several names from britain's underground. it just reads like a pathetic attempt of someone trying to hang onto other people's coat tails and is really out of place in the book.

however, the book is not a complete waste of time. freeman does have a decent sense of humour and it's an easy enough read, but this is a long way from geoff thompson's 'watch my back'
