I am certainly not among those that would spend a fortune on audio cables, but there are some basic aspect in every cable or adapter that can make a real difference, even at low prices:
In this case, this is a typical cable adapter/splitter that can convert a single 3.5 mm stereo male jack into 2 standard Left/Right male RCA jacks, and it can be really useful, for instance, to connect a 3.5 mm jack male-male cable to standard RCA connectors.
The typical scenario where this adapter would be needed, for instance, is when you want to use the standard PC audio cables supplied with most audio cards to connect their Line-Out stereo 3.5 mm jack connectors to a standard amplifier, or also to most amplified non-PC speakers, which usually have only RCA Line-IN connectors.
In cases like this, the quality of the adapter is very important to reduce as much as possible the signal loss, and in this case quality is quite evident:
1) The connectors are all gold-plated, for optimal connections, so you should never end up with rotten jacks (very common event with cheap cables...)
2) The adapter is longer than most similar, cheaper ones: approx. 22 cm including the connectors, which is really helpful when you have to connect/disconnect the cables frequently from inaccessible back panels, without having to be Mr. Fantastic or a professional contorsionist...
3) The cables are a little thicker and definitely stronger than the ones you usually find on most cheap cables/connectors, so the wire sections should also have a larger diameter, which is really good for your signals...
4) The connectors are also very sturdy and larger than the usual, so they should not break easily;
5) There are even embossed L and R markings on the RCA connectors, a little touch that is another sign of good quality (and respect of blind users, by the way: ALL cables should have clear markings like these, actually...).
The cable works like a charm, there is no noise from unsteady connections, and the connectors fit very snugly.
Given the good quality and the affordable price, I highly recommend this also to any audiophile that might need such an adapter. (Even if I know that real audiophiles would probably never use such contraptions...)
