i have been wearing this helmet all summer. My previous helmet was a Caberg Justissimo. The Duke is also flip front, but there's one big -and important- difference. It's "Dual Homologation", which means it's perfectly legal to ride with the visor in the "UP" position. It has been designed to allow you to do this, whilst still having a degree of head protection. Of course the big danger would be that the visor might slip down while you're on the bike; to prevent this, a really clunky locking mechanism is provided. Unfortunately the catch is small and fiddly and it's very easy to lock the visor in the "UP" position whilst wearing gloves, which usually means you have to take your gloves off again, and possibly even remove the helmet again, to find and release the catch. It took me a while to get used to this feature.

There's a leather panel which fits under your chin when the visor is down. It's very easy to accidentally detach this whilst putting the helmet on. This, also took a bit of getting used to.

In use, the thing I most dislike is the area of vision. Your sideways vision isn't great. In fact I have occasionally found myself stopping completely at "give way" lines simply because I couldn't be sure I hadn't missed something. I'm guessing this is all to do with the design of the "Dual Homologation" thing. Of course if you're just nipping down to the shops or whatever, in town, you can just ( legally) ride with the visor UP and the all- round vision is really good. People would probably assume you've just forgotten to put your visor down.

Because of the side vision issue I'd urge people to wear this helmet and make sure you're comfortable with it before buying. And I definitely don't recommend this helmet for learners.

Great helmet at a great price - delivered on time and I am very pleased with the service. The helmet is really comfy and is an excellent fit for my 'medium' head - 57 cms. Far superior fit and a lot qieter than my last flip helmet which was a Box - certainly worth the extra £££s. Would certainly recommend the supplier MSG and the Caberg Duke helmet.

First the negatives.
It is just as noisy as my previous Caberg Trip.
The visor is fiddley to remove and refit.
The visor release catch is near on impossible to operate with gloves on.

Now the positives.
Very comfortable.
Comes with Pinlock as standard.
Superb ventilation.
Very light.
It is blue tooth ready, (although you need the kit).
Looks good.
All in all good value.

I think I have found the perfect modular helmet with all the things I like. It is light in weight has a large visor aperture, a pinlock fitted a solid clamp shut with large centre tang for easy gloved hand opening. There is a large space in between my face and the visor. The tinted visor has good optical quality and has infinite positions rather than fully open or closed. I like to ride with the tint just covering my eyes and look down at the instruments through the clear visor. Also unlike my previous Caberg does not suffer from excessive wind noise and has adequate room for comms. I currently own a Shoei, Arai, BMW System 6, And Nitro and most of those cost best part of £500 I paid £125 for the Duke... Sooooo pleased.

Great looking helmet, also has a section for adding a caberg speaker and microphone (which I don't have yet). It came with pin lock which is new to me and the visor never steams up no matter how heavy you breath. All in all it's cracking helmet and well worth the money, there are cheaper options but this helmet is also rated for safety too.

This was bought as a replacement for my old Box helmet. It came pin-lock ready with a pin-lock insert to help prevent misting up in the cold. The pin-lock insert was a bit fiddly as this was the first I fitted. The helmet has a snug fit and is a lot lighter than the Box Helmet about 500 grams in this size.Visibility is good, A good all round helmet for general riding/commuting
