Adrian Plass, better than ever! Here, Adrian Plass takes both the humorous and the serious elements that you find present in his other works, and weaves them together into a rollercoaster of emotional dynamics with the consummerate skill of the communicator that we have come to expect.
"Cabbages for the King" could be read purely for the entertainment value, but to do so is to miss the point. How can one fail to associate with the writer of "Am I the only one?", recall those many sleepness nights when reading "Worry", or to laugh at "Navigation"? And as our emotions are teased, we begin to understand more of who we are, and what Christianity is about. This is dangerous stuff - knowing more about ourselves is not always what we would like, but Adrian Plass opens the doors so mildly that we learn gently - and learn deeply!
Highly recommended. This is a book that I've read again, and again, and will certainly read yet again!
