csi deadly intent 11 Dec 2009
Fun:
of course being a true csi Vegas fan from the very beginning, nothing is truly the same without grissom in it, but if you just like csi anyway you will have hours of fun on this game, its the same kind of lay out of the other csi games you interview people and search the room for evidence, but i found there is one key difference that makes this game more of a challenge and it all thats in the lab. instead of sitting there and visually matching things but they make you work at it.

all in all i think it is a great game and a great price.

I had played the PC game CSI: Dark Motives. This is better again! Five cases, each led by the Player and assisted where required by a member of the CSI team. Each also has chances to show off your skills on the lab equipment, you are rated on your skills, cunning and thoroughness in each case and there is as much or little support as you need.

Some of the Xbox achievements are easy to get, others less so - its a good mixture.

Each case took around an hour or so - but you can go through them more or less quickly depending on your own preferences.

I'd recommend it to anyone - after playing this, I ordered the other two games as well.

Ok... basically there are 5 cases for you to solve (you play the part of a newbie the whole way through) and each case you have a partner; willows, sanders, stokes, Riley and Dr Langston. Sadly no Gill in this one! They help you along the way and can give you hints if you ask for it BUT it will cost you in you're final score. (find the right online guide)

All 5 cases are different and you have to use different techniques in each case although some characters do pop up later on in the game (saying no more). For anyone that has played other CSI games, they will feel right at home as the way it plays is identical. This outing is not as difficult as "CSI: Fatal Conspiracy" although a good walk-through guide will aid you if you get stuck (i can recommend IGN's walk-through)

So back to the game, graphics are OK....nothing special and pretty standard of a game that's been out 5 years (although this hasn't) music wise there is none really, just you're very basic faint tune that you get all the way through the game (unlike CSI: Hard Evidence where music was everywhere from the lab to the crime scene and differed with each case). Although it is interesting to find clues and interogate suspects i must say that the game can be tedious and boring at times especially when you're matching DNA or fingerprints up in the lab for example.

PROS: All the characters from CSI: Las Vegas, usual tools and lab equiptment, interesting cases which have a twist, Easy 1000g

CONS: Basically everything else i didn't list above

VERDICT: I bought this game as i'm a CSI fan and own an xbox, having played all other CSI games i thought i'd have to add this to my collection, It's good enough as a play through and cracking the cases, you also get rewarded heavily with achievements (only 28 to get and their not difficult)... BUT there is very little replay-ability in this game, once you've done it you're hardly going to play it again unless you're missing achievements so my advice would be to RENT this game rather than buy it unless you're comfortable paying the price!!

WORTH RENTING FOR A FEW DAYS!!
