While keeping abreast of cutting-edge technologies, CSI combines the ingenuity (and fallibility) of villains with the appealing humanity of its heroes. CSI director and entomologist Gil Grissom (played by series co-producer William Petersen) is introverted but ethically intense; he's both mentor and moral compass for his night-shift team, including a former stripper-turned-CSI (Marg Helgenberger); a recovering gambler (Gary Dourdan); an eager ace (George Eads) with room for improvement; a workaholic (Jorja Fox) who can't always remain emotionally detached from her cases; and a chief detective (Paul Guilfoyle) who's a necessary link to police procedure. Like The X-Files, CSI supports its characters with feature-film production values, employing a Rashomon structure that turns murder into a progressively accurate study of cause and effect. Script quality is consistently high ("Blood Drops" and "Unfriendly Skies" are exceptional), direction is slick and sophisticated, and the mysteries are complex enough to invite multiple viewings. Despite a regrettable shortage of DVD features, CSI remains addictively worthy of its lofty reputation. --Jeff Shannon

I really liked how realistic it was, the way they never cought the murderer sometimes and then they struck again. You also have the killers who somehow slip through the net more than once and get away again. The serial killer that most sticks in my head is Paul Milander, he was brilliant with all his mind games that he played on Grissom.
The episodes just seemed to get better as you went through them, with me really enjoying season 1 and then getting to season 2 which I enjoyed even more and then finally finishing with season 3 which was by far the best year. This is when Greg, the lab rat, finally gets a chance to go out on field and also go undercover for Grissom. This was definately his most eventful series when he even manages to get blown up by Catherine!
The good thing about this boxset is that once you are finished you can watch them again because when you go back you notice things that you never noticed before, for example, people acting very strangely. Now that you know who really done it you can go back and pick up on all the sublinal signals you couldnt pick up on before. Also, there are plenty of extras to keep you occupied for a while!
I cant wait now for season 4 to come out on DVD, Im now hooked on CSI and watch it every Tuesday and watch the New York version on Saturdays. I am now going to buy the Miami boxset and work my way through it. This boxset is well worth the money and I really recommend it to everyone! Enjoy
My opinion? Buy this, switch your mobile off, unplug the landline and enjoy!!
