Hopefully this is the answer to my endervour to find a reliable and long lasting cable release. I have now tried 2 Canon, allegedly, returned and refunded, and two from another maker and all have been utters failures. Just poor quality accessories which seems to be par for the course today. The main issue is the socket that fits into the camera, they are just not robust enough.

This one at least has a no nonsense connection which will not fall apart! It works and I hope it will last me for some considerable time.

I bought this remote shutter switch for my Canon Eos 40 D, it simply plugs in to the side of the camera and operates as the shutter button. It does not however disable the shutter button, so both can be used in tandem.

I have just received this item from UK Highland Photography and am delighted at how simple the thing is to connect and operate with my Canon EOS 10D Digital SLR. It is very light and compact and a fraction of the cost of the Canon original. Works perfectly well for an amateur photographer like me.

I needed a cable release and was almost about to buy the canon version of this when I saw this one was a third of the price. It works, the cable seems to be in a good quality. The connector fits snugly without being too loose or tight. The cable length is sensible not too long or short. The switch mechanism feels good, although perhaps a little loose, at the start I pushed it into the locked (bulb) position several times but after learning this feature I am a little more careful now and it is no longer a problem. I think it's a big problem to find remotes which are of a good enough quality that you don't end up wasting your money because it breaks after a short time, This seems like it's of good enough quality, it feels like an item costing two or three times as much. If you need a shutter release, buy this one. It works. Heartily recommended.

I have looked at a lot of these for my canon 5D for macro work. I thought this may do the job and it does, no bells and whistles but if you don't want to touch the camera and just take a photo this is just what you need. I got this within two days of order, fantastic service from the seller. Packet was able to fit through the letter box as well what is always a bonus thank you and will be shopping with you again keep up the good work.

Cheap and cheerful. Not the best build quality, but it works and the fact that it breaks down into two parts means it fits easily into a small camera bag pocket.

Works fine, does the job and a nice price too. Took a star off just for the connection to the remote switch, which has a tendency to slip off the jack if you are not careful, probably because of the "spring" pull from the cable.missed a few fireworks shots as i didn't realise it had slipped off. Would advice to use some sticky tape to secure the connection.Might be me and being my first remote, i had to have a little practice to get the feel of the button as it doesn't give much feedback like a normal shutter release. But overall an excellent remote switch for the price you pay.
