as an amazon shopper i read a vast amount of the reviews on this item deciding weather to buy it or not, the reviews cover a great range and i was very confused.

To start, the dice were absolutely fine, although i dont think many people would buy the set for the dice.

Next, the cards are quite flimsy and light, they should be ok for a while if they are well looked after but are definately NOT casino standard, and fall apart from the use of any flourishes or fancy shuffles as they are bent easily. The case is also of a low quality, its very light and i fear the lid may snap, however i dont think its a real problem as of course what really matters is the chips...

...and to start off the image can be quite misleading, after reading reviews it seems i am definately not the only one to receive 40% white chips. For any concerns, within the set these were followed by 20% red 20% blue and just 10% for each blacks and greens. However this may not be too much of the problem as the chips bare no markings, so you can value them how you want. Despite this the chips themselves are excellent, there may be a slight difference to other dice chips i have played with but i cant quite put my finger on it..but whatever it is you should find that the problem is almost negligable.

Overall the set is very good, and i believe the quality you get for the value is rather outstanding! The high amount of chips within the package (500) should definately be enough for games involving a large number of players. I would definately recommend for not only beginners, but also players of a higher level.

I hope the review cleared up any doutes you had about the set.

As quite a serious poker player I scoured the internet for a chip set at a decent price with a large number of chips, and I dont think there is any better than this. Far cheaper than any other 500-piece set, the chips are a decent weight and handle well. As long as you aren't looking for real clay chips at this price, you wont be disappointed. Delivery was really quick too, within 2 days.

This was a great purchase. I had recently purchased a poker chip sample pack to decide which style and weight i wanted.
Having decided, i browsed various sites selling them, and couldnt believe how good value this set was - almost half what i was about to happily pay from another supplier.
I have to say i was pleasantly surprised by the set - having being mildly sceptical in the run up to delivery.
The first encouragement was the solid feel and weight of the product.
The chips are exactly what i expected and handle well, with a nice weighty feel to them.
I was slightly disappointed by the quality of the " casino quality cards " included in the set, but having read similar opinions in previous reviews, i had expected this, so im certainly not disappointed.

All in all, a great purchase for anyone setting up a regular poker game which is exactly what im about to do !

Great value chip set.

Good feel to the chips and whilst they may not be up to 'professional' standards, they are perfect for home/casual use.

Unmarked so you can give each colour what ever value you want - makes your poker game much more flexible.

Dice look nice.

Cards have the right backing (no border, generic design), but are quite thin/light.

Case looks good, but does not open out to 180 degrees, and the hinges may be a weak point - they dont seem too strong. The internal plastic tray is cheap, but does the job.

Has a 'made in china' feel to it, but is perfect for home use and very convenient for keeping your chips tidy (and easily transportable).

Poker is a classic card game that involves a player attempting to beat others by obtaining a wining hand of cards. There are many variations of Poker (such as Five Card Draw or Texas-Hold'em,) each different in their own unique way, but normally the objective is to win a pot of money that has been built up during the hand (round) through a series of bets.

This boxed set contains 500 Poker chips of various values (colours), two packets of three Joker playing cards, 5 playing dice, and a white 'dealer' chip. All presented beautifully in an padded aluminium carry case. To simply call this item a toy or a novelty would be an insult, as it is a fitting tribute to the famous game.

I've enjoyed playing poker for a number of years. In fact back in my school days several of us often played the game while we were in Geography - granted we were only playing with coloured pencils (as our teacher would never permit us to use anything else.) But nevertheless I developed a love for the game. Poker can be played so easily through electronic means, either with a hand held game, or with the vast number of websites that offer online virtual poker. While this may be sufficient for some, I personally prefer to be able to sit down with some friends, with the chips in front of me, and real cards in my hands. It makes the game seem more real, and more serious. But it also adds an additional element of fun to the game. I can't bluff when I'm playing poker online, but I can when playing in person.

The quality of the product is reflected in its high price. The chips in the set are of extremely high quality, very realistic in weight (compared to the real casino chips.) as well as being durable.
