I very nearly sent this back when I got it, as it looked so small I didn't think it could possibly hold a full load of washing. However, I liked it so much - looks very nice, very good quality and exactly what I wanted - that I decided to test with clean clothes to see how much it can hold. It holds A LOT! I was amazed, I really thought it would only manage a few small items, but I found I could fit a full load plus extra in! I have used it for every load of washing I have done since, and it is just brilliant. I often bring two full loads downstairs in it, put on in the machine and leave the other in the basket ready to go in when I take the first out. It even carries several of the huge bath sheet towels I have - very big, very heavy, very bulky - with no problem. The wicker is very strong and has no issue with such heavy loads. I've been using it constantly for two months now and it still looks brand new - I was expecting the 'whiteness' of the cotton lining to age and discolour, but so far, it hasn't at all. I intend to buy another of these, and at least one of the rectancular baskets in the same range, to use for keeping clean washing waiting to be ironed in.

Unfit for purpose

Wonderful

lovely basket
