As a training manager who has successfully used the Bessant CLAIT/IBT 2 book with groups of students in a workshop-type situation (where the students work mainly under their own steam with minimal help from a tutor), I hoped this book would be the equivalent for the New CLAIT qualification. It isn't.
On the plus side, the book is very colourful and nicely designed, which is a definite aid for learning and will certainly keep students' attention, something the bland black-and-white pages of the Bessant book always fell down on. But the content is not clear enough for students to work alone for any length of time -- they would certainly need a tutor to guide them through the exercises and explain some of the finer points.
That said, this is a very good choice if you intend to use the book in a traditional taught situation. I see there is a tutors' pack which accompanies the book but haven't got my hands on that yet.
