Can attest that this a good winter jacket and that the materials are up to the job, including, unfortunately, an unplanned abrasion test, which it passed with damage to the piping which has compromised the waterproofing of the jacket and some bruising to the shoulder which I feel was limited by the jacket construction. I ride in all but the ice and snow, and have found this jacket to be very comfortable, adjustable and reasonably warm. As has been mentioned by another reviewer, this is not the warmest of jackets, but its' generous cut allows easily for an extra layer. Personally would replace the back foam with CE rated armour. When the insurance comes through I shall be replacing the old jacket with another one of these, though I will probably get the next size down this time as there is a good two to three inches wriggle room in this jacket at least at the top end of the sizes.

A little annoying was that I was not sent the jacket I ordered. Packaging note said hi vis and what I got was the black one. It was a hassle to get sorted just because of the sheer amount of emailing so ended up a chore but I have to say there was no quibble about getting a replacement and after a week and a half I had this which was worth the wait and hassle. Its roomy so no need to upsize to make room for layer under it, good amount of armouring and removable inner lining. Its pretty well waterproof as much as many other more expensive jackets I have bought in past, none of which have really stood up to the harshest of conditions I insist on riding through, despite what I pay and the manufacturers claims. All in all it does what it says on the labelling and who can complain at that. The only real jacket which is worthy of our harshest winters/wet seasons is a Belstaff, which I sadly cannot afford anymore.
Take a chance on this jacket, its incredible value for money...you wont believe it.

Great Budget buy 11 Feb 2011
Have used this jacket, for daily commute and longer rides, right through the winter and I think its a great piece of kit for the price.
It has good hi-viz without being completely garish and does pretty much what it says on the tin. Its waterproof and the removable thermal liner goes in and out easily, as do the protectors, so you can give it a light machine wash occasionaly. Pockets are good and it seems put together well. I particularly like the soft collar lining and also that its quite a full lenght so I dont need to zip it to trousers and can even wear a suit jacket underneath without it sticking out below.
I guess the material and lining is a slightly lighter grade than a £300 jacket,( probably not so cold in Australia!) but unless you are doing really big milages in mid-winter then it fine, and nothing an extra layer wont cure.
You wont regret buying it.
