4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality 30 April 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I found this book to be very good quality, particularly compared to more expensive test engines from the usual suspects. The answers are comprehensive, allowing you to get into the mind set of the examiner. Test engines from other providers are poorly written, with little explanation of the answers. This is good quality at a fraction of the price.

It is worth noting though that this compliments Shon Harris' CISSP study book. If (like me) you used a different study guide you may not have read some of the material associated with these questions. I found one main study guide, this book and Mike Meyers' CISSP Certification Passport very helpful. Sadly it seems to be the case that no one book will teach you everything you need to know for the CISSP exam.

As it says on the tin don't let the real exam be your first exam !

5.0 out of 5 stars Indepth and very descriptive 26 Feb. 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Good tool for prep, but also a very good revision guide. I have worked through chapters in this book before using the all-in-one book as you get to the core of the subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Used this as Part of Passing CISSP 18 April 2013
By Ian
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I got this to take the test recently as my other books were from 2011. I think as a final exam prepartion it's very good. This gives plenty of practice questions (250 + another 1000 online) so is beneficial in terms of being able to practice doing relaistic questions.

The answers are all explained fairly well so it's a good way to identify and fill knowledge gaps. Beware though that sometimes the brief answer list at theend of the chapter is sometimes wrong, so do also check the detailed answers and explanations. I also found the odd question that had two options exactly the same, or seemed wrong, but I am talking maybe max 4 out of the whole lot.

The questions are very much in the style of the exam, and cover all the areas pretty well, but don't expect the actual questions to come up, as that certainly wasn't my experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Exam Preparation Tool 16 Jan. 2013
By Bigruss917 - Published on
This book is easily equally as important as the All In One Guide for CISSP exam preparation. This is by far the BEST practice exam resource out there. There are others out there, but they are not even in the same league. I recently took the exam in November, and I can tell you that this book is very relevant and very current. Plus, Shon adds detailed explanations for the answers which forces you to think in the same manner as the real exam question writers. Well worth the investment.

i have downloaded a few apps, looked for questions online and paid for some of it. Nothing compares to these questions. They are not only useful for exam studies but also jsut broadly useful in getting you to realize what you don't know.

5.0 out of 5 stars highly recommended complement to All-In-One book 20 Jan. 2013
By Bill Curd - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The distinctive about this book is that it explains each of the answers, not just the best answer. This is critical for exam prep and is missing from Shon's All-In-One book and virtually all other prep material. I've only seen it in Eric Conrad's book and my own CISSP training material. I highly recommend it as a complement to Shon's All-In-One book (one might say it should have been included in that book, but All-In-One is already oversized) or to any other CISSP prep book.

3.0 out of 5 stars It isn't tooo different from her previous version. 1 Feb. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
For each chapter domain, the first 25 questions are EXACTLY the same. There are 5 or so more questions for each chapter and a few of the questions are actually where there is a scenario in which a few questions apply to that scenario. Very helpful. But to pay that much for a few more questions. ---ehhh....I don't know if it was worth paying the extra $$.

I am not saying the questions aren't good, just that I would have expected more new questions and not the same ones questions by question as in the previous version. If you have the previous version I think you'd be fine unless you want to waste your $$ to pay another copy with a few more questions in each chapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Must Have" book for anyone preparing for the CISSP exam 30 Nov. 2012
By Bill Robinson - Published on
What a great way to prepare. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the justifications to each of the answers as to why the answer I chose was right or wrong. It really drove home the defining reasons and pinpointed where I need to go back and study.
