Product Description

Product Description

"Who Cut The Cheese?" is the original, hilarious parody of the business bestseller "Who Moved My Cheese?"

It is a parable in which four rats must find a way through a maze in their hunt for "Cheese." But this "Cheese" is actually symbolic of the things we all want out of life: success and self-confidence, a nice house, a loving marital relationship, perfect children, a loyal dog, indoor plumbing, good Chinese food, several million tax-free dollars, and red-hot sex with multiple partners.

The "Maze" in this story is symbolic of the twisting, turning, confusing, mugger-filled blind alleys of Your Life. And since you're being compared to a rat in this book, the whole "Maze" analogy works like a charm.

When you come to see the "Psycho-babble on the Wall," you can discover for yourself how to deal with change in the workplace, and how to find the Cheese that will make your life joyous and fulfilling.

Failing that, if you were forced by your boss to read "Who Moved My Cheese?" before getting a pay cut or a pink slip, "Who Cut The Cheese?" will at least give you the last laugh!

NOTE: "Who Cut the Cheese?" is a small gem - meaning that it's roughly 1400 pages shorter than "War and Peace," but roughly the same length as the teeny tiny original book (around 80 pages). That's why the price is low, but the "laughs per page" ratio is high!

About the Author

STILTON JARLSBERG, M.D. has made vast professional strides, which is no small accomplishment considering he is only six inches tall. By virtue of this fact, he was awarded a scholarship to medical school so that he might actually participate in experiments alongside lab rats as a human "control." His experience with mazes and cheesy rewards speaks volumes about the expertise he brings to the writing of "Who Cut the Cheese?" His previous book, "The One Minute Mangler," was originally the story of a psychotic, brutally sadistic serial killer. It sold fewer than a dozen copies. However, when he realized that many of the psycho killer's torture techniques were identical to methods used in the business world, he revised the book and released it as a nonfiction management manual, at which time it became a huge international bestseller. Following this unexpected success, Stilton Jarlsberg has published an entire series of "One Minute" books, and he eventually hopes to see them turned into a series of big budget feature films for people with exceedingly short attention spans.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent "Cheese" Indeed! 9 Oct 2000
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
This book does a marvelous job of satirizing the self-help bestseller "Who Moved My Cheese?" It is at times devastatingly funny and is not diminished by being American in setting and tone. "Who Cut the Cheese?" tells the story of tiny people and rats sharing a maze and competing for a bit of cheese; cheese which is meant to represent our goals in life. The "self-help" advice discovered along the way is uniformly hilarious. I particularly liked the list of other books written by the author ("Stilton Jarlsberg" indeed!) which are parodies of books by the author of "The One Minute Manager." Among my favorites: "The One Minute Manger: An Efficient Christmas Story." Very highly recommended, especially as a gift for anyone familiar with the original book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Funny And Useful! 7 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Not only is Dr. Jarlsberg's book extremely funny, it also gives some hilariously accurate insights into how the world of business really works! I'm the head of a large organization, and I had very little use for Spencer Johnson's cartoonish "Who Moved My Cheese?" However, I will heartily recommend this delightful book to all of my 100,000 employees!

The book has helped me to cope with changes in a totally different perspective and has changed the outlook of my career life to a more positive dynamic one. This can be infectious and may affect others in the team too. Grab the book and read it, you know you want to.

I enjoyed this story and will read it again. Sounds odd to be reading about rats and cheese but go with it and you will be surprised. Very thought provoking too.

I liked the original. This one follows the original story but not as good. It was worth the price but not one to read again.
