A new literal version of the bible in the tradition of the 1526 Tindale New testament and the Revised Standard Version. As a new edition it provides all bible believing Christians with an accurate, anglicised translation of God's Word. This real leather version really is beautifully made and comes with a sturdy hardback case which will ensure it lasts a lifetime, and more. A very special purchase.

Whilst nothing will replace the poetry and form of the King James Translation this is an t plain English Bible for young people. This translation is simple clear and avoids the thou's, haths and language that is likely to put off a young reader. It is also a great translation if an adult wants a quick clear understanding of a particular passage of Scripture. There is a balancing line between making Scripture more "modern" in translation losing meaning but the CEV treads this well. An ideal young person Bible and great to combine with an ESV. The only issue perhaps is that the modern gender changes (he, man to people, them and so on) sometimes blurs the actual meaning. I would add a caveat that as with all idiomatic translations you tend to get what the editors think the Bible means to say and not necessarily what it does say. If you are worried about that go for the ESV.

Format:Leather Bound
The ESV translation of the bible reiterates the clear challenge from God in a language which reaches directly to our hearts and minds. It will be accessible to all readers, whether or not they have already repented of their sins and know the Lord Jesus Christ as their saviour.
Not only the content but also the presentation is excellent. The tactile feel of the weight and texture together with the physically comforting leather binding (smell and touch) make it lovely to hold, to own and to read.
For those who have previously used the RSV with happiness this is a marvellous update, retaining the linguistic feel and the translation accuracy of the RSV. Do not listen to the detractors, buy this bible translation, in this version, and I promise that you will not be disappointed.
