This item comes flat-packed, but is quick and fairly easy to assemble. The only criticism I would make of the instructions is that you really need to have good spatial awareness to work out which way round the pieces fit, but once you've got started it's fairly plain sailing. I did it by myself, but an extra pair of hands would have made the job even easier.
When complete, the unit looks good and the "drawers" work smoothly. However, it is quite narrow from front to back and might be a bit unstable if top heavy, so I shall fill mine from the bottom to give it an extra bit of stability, rather than starting at the top - though this is just safety first, not a major problem.
One great plus point for me is that I can store all my "fat" CDs - boxed sets, for example - in their original boxes.

It works of sorts, although it is unstable and cannot really be moved one assembled/filled without the whole thing collapsing. The particle board split in several places during assembly by dowels and screws, some of the veneer came off, and the assembled product looked less than impressive. Even if there had been a flawless exterior, the 'beech' veneer has a very plasticky, yellowish look that match no other furniture wood I have around. Eventually fed up with the flimsyness I have just taken the thing to the skip.

Nice item but needs a stronger back that can be screwed into the wall otherwise it gets top heavy and comes forward when the top drawers are opened.

Bought 3 of these in 2002 and they are still working perfectly. Rest them on your skirting board and rawl plug to the wall. Very stable, take various cd cases, they clunk tightly shut. I'd rate them 100%!
Am now trying to find the same design in white or oak to suit my new decor.

What a stylish piece of furniture I have just made, I have made a lot in my time (58 and female!), all the precut holes were in the correct place and the diagrams and instructions were clear and easy to follow. One small problem, I could have done with another pair of hands to steady the unit when putting on the second side as the shelves are not fixed but pivot so have a tendency to move, however eventually managed it and am so pleased with the result.

This CD storage Unit will not last the weight of the CD's is just to much for the sides of the case to take. its a nightmare to put together, one little movement and the draws just drop out. There is two small pins holding each draw and there are just holes in the side of the cabinet to take all this weight The side have bowed out in the middle, If you was putting tegether a flat pack set of draws, you would build the case and then fit the draws to the case. This item is the other way round you build the draws and then try to fix the case round the draws.
I said a few naughty words when I was trying to put this thing together. Just don't buy it it's rubbish.
I am now looking for something else.

Easy to build - though be prepared to have to learn to balance whilst you build. Holds CDs nicely, and can also be used to store paperback books, but drawers too shallow for DVDs. Recommend for anyone with a lot of CDs without a lot of room.
