If you want to learn IP routing, this book will not take you anywhere close. For that you would need "Cisco IOS for IP Routing" by Andrew Colton or Doyle's books. However, Odom's book would probably be all you need to pass the CCNA test if you already have enough Cisco experience. You may want to add one or two other fine CCNA books though.

A good book to read if a little dry. If you are taking the CCNA Exam then you will also need the Sybex book which is a far better read and is more complete in some areas ( i.e. emergency password recovery ).

This review is primarily focused for BEGINNERS. Applies to Intermediates also.
I passed my CCNA using this book. It has preparation questions for each chapter which helps you to focus on parts which need more attention. I suggest taking exams in two parts (640-811 and 640-821) IF YOU WANT TO BE ON A SAFER SIDE, because this series has two books, one for each exam which is ideal for you to concentrate on one exam at a time.
I also suggest taking plenty of free exams available on the internet. DO NOT TAKE PRACTICE EXAMS WITHOUT COMPLETING THE BOOK. YOU WILL FAIL. I HAVE SEEN STUDENTS WHO JUST TAKE PRACTICE EXAMS WITHOUT STUDYING AND EVENTUALLY FAIL IN THE REAL EXAM.
