Product Description

Christian World News Review - December 1997

Read the truth about David 'Packie' Hamilton's time as a Loyalist paramilitary, and how God broke in to the violence of his life. David is now the Director of Teen Challenge in Manchester and his story sheds light on God's work in lives of those in Northern Ireland. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

ECB - December 1997

David 'Packie' Hamilton's story is a gripping, well written tale of someone who grew up in this climate of violence and strife. Bank robberies, hold-ups, fighting and killings became the order of the day. Yet in the midst of all the turmoil and violence there was an invisible guiding and protecting hand. More than once his life was inexplicably saved. His time in prison gave him the opportunity to reflect upon some of the systerious escapes that he had experienced. A rocky marriage and a growing sense of desolation drove David to search for a worthy cause to live for. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic true life story., 22 Sep 2011

An ideal book if you don't believe anyone can change. Moving, honest and humbling. I got it for my husband, but my son has read it as well. It's a man's book. No-one is too far fallen to be lifted and rescued out of bad choices made earlier in life that lead to an ever decreasing circle of hopelessness. Read the book but more importantly find out about the Rescuer and why David got out of the cycle he was in. I love the actions of old woman, (his mother's friend) who always had hope when no one else did. Also if your life is fine, read the book and find out more, because life can throw at you allsorts that you alone can't deal with and you need the friend that David now has. I rely on this friend all the time, and from the outside my life is perfect, yet deep down I am no different than David. It's great to read this book, be amazed. I hope you see it too.
