Probably my best online purchase this year. The tablet arrived the next day and as soon as I opened the package I was very pleased with my purchase. The box and packaging are really well made and I was very pleased with the quality and the finish. It came with quite a few very nice extras like a car charger (very useful on long trips), a set of earphones, and by far the most important and my favourite piece, it has a leather keyboard and carry case for the tablet. Unpacked the tablet, put it inside the leather keyboard case and switched it on and it was so easy to connect it to the keyboard via bluetooth so no fiddly USB cables to attach. I got on the internet very quickly and the touch screen was brilliant. The colours on the screen were so nice and clear. So far I have managed to download mainly work related apps and I put a few of my favourite series on a separate memory card and I watch them on my way to work (earphones came in handy). I must say I am just well over the moon with this....the hubby wants one now (maybe for christmas). I wholeheartedly give it a 5 star thumbs up.

How to start. OK this is the first "proper" review I've written so bear with me.
I'm 79 yrs of age, and decided, after many years of playing with PCs, to dabble with a tablet. Apple products are pricey, so I researched android tablets deeply.
Read reviews, and have commonsense, so put behind me memories of Windows 3.1 / 95b / 98 /Linux / XP / Vista and the current Win7, and dived in headfirst, opting for the Cambridge Sciences Starpad 9 (9.7 inch screen) at just over two hundred GBP.
Prior to purchase from Amazon I managed to phone Cambridge Sciences for some information about the tablet which I found slightly unclear from the Amazon description. Here I have to thank Kel for his patience and understanding. Kel explained the physical buttons and the various connections on my preferred choice : USB for Computer connection, USB HOST for connection to flash drives, keyboards etc, Mini HDMI, and Micro SD slot. Just what I wanted.
I ordered the tablet which came from ANDROID TABLETS UK and sat back waiting for it to arrive. 48 hrs later it came! Can't beat that for delivery.
The package contained the Tablet, power adaptor, a keyboard and case, a small mini USB to USB lead and a standard mini USB to USB lead, and manuals in English, albeit not always well translated ... but that's the fun of these "modern" manuals, innit!

The Tablet powered on and I started to find my way around....bearing in mind that I have no experience of Android Tablets, although I have a Samsung Genio Slide with touch screen (I don't use the darn thing much cos it's a trifle sensitive for my fingers!)
I ought to explain that my approach is the "Try it and learn by it" method.

I have to say, in the world of Tablets it's something of a nightmare for choosing the right manufacturer and equally the right Seller.

I feel I have made the right decision on both counts, I had several conversations with Michelle via email before making my decision.

She was instrumental in guiding me with some of my enquiries until I fully understood the implications in getting it wrong.

The fact that this is a UK supplier and the fact that we have more stringent standards here, means the UK specification for these Tablets is far in advance of the "foreign" bought ones.

The fact that the main manufacturers and distributors from China are from an area called Shenzhen and apparently standards there do vary (local distributed Tablets are sometimes of a much lower spec).

The Cambridge Sciences Tablet is a joy to use, with an aluminium back (not the plastic type) coupled with an extremely fast dual core CPU and an equally fast GPU.. fairly zips along with excellent graphics too.
I have purchased a small-form Bluetooth speaker to enhance the sound and that is a killer purchase... my music and videos are perfect, with a deeper base and volume, compliments of the speaker.

The Tablet comes with the Android market app already installed and several other apps.. Skype, BBC iPlayer and eMails all work fine and the connectivity is excellent, connects instantly including the built-in Bluetooth..
There is a fair amount of built in storage too, plus I have installed a further 32gb micro SD Card for my music etc.

This Tablet is is thoroughly recommended to all, the seller is first class and offers a full 12 month return to base warranty and the Cambridge Sciences build quality is excellent.

After looking at several other tablets we were attracted to the price and customer feedback on the Cambridge Sciences Star Pad Range. We took the plunge and bought it........It's fantastic, we are very happy with our purchase. Friends comment on how fast, clear and "equivalent in spec" it is to other expensive products. Highly recommend the star pad and the wifi keyboard.
