I happened to be in Richer Sounds and saw one of these. I've used a JBL dock for some time and while this is excellent in itself, it does lack the full colourful sound of a proper amp setup.
Th iD10 from Cambridge is an ideal solution.
No set-up issues, just couple it up to spare inputs on your amp (a 3.5 stereo to twin phono cable is needed), plug in the mains power unit and away you go. Charges your ipod/itouch/iphone while docked and the sound output from the hifi is a vast improvement over the free standing dock.
As mentioned, the cable is seperate (I understand to allow the end user to select the correct required cable for final use), plus there's no remote as standard, this being available as an option and bundled with a 3.5 to phone cable (you don't need the remote, but it helps obviously).
Comparible in price to the Pure once you've bought the cable/remote (I'd seen the Pure version is felt this was of better build) but certainly a good performer and highly recommended.

Was looking for a dock to connect to my AV Receiver; decided on simple and cost effective option instead of expensive digital docks. Great sound quality via Ipod and Iphone 4. Need 3.5mm Phono lead. Charges iphone in dock. Recommended for everyday ipod music.

Simple and elegant 16 Jun 2011
This product offers the perfect way to connect you i-pod to a hi-fi separates system. You do need to purchase the 3.5mm stereo jack to phono lead to connect it but overall it is a very cheap and simple way to extend the use of your hi-fi system. The stand looks elegant and work perfectly. It got used immediately for a party meaning we had the benefit of the hi-fi volume but the 10 hour shuffle playlist of my i-pod.
