We bought the Waste Hog before going to France for four weeks last summer. We bought it as the old waste container did not have wheels. We shopped around and were impressed by the list of features and large capacity of the Pyramid product. We were not put off by it's ugliness but got a few strange looks on campsites.
After a day the blue hubcaps fell off and fell off again frequently after being clicked back on. We don't refix them now. I looked for other Waste Hogs on the site and found that they had all lost their caps. The axles push them off when pulling.
In warm weather the attachment compartment lid stopped clicking shut. It never closed properly again and has to be kept shut with a bungee.
The indicator got filled with waste water and cannot be dried out easily. It also sticks and has corroded. It does not give a reliable reading in either of the cap positions.
When emptying it, waste water gets on your hands as the attachments are fiddly and have to be put away.
When pulling, the distribution of water places the centre of gravity too high making it heavy and awkward. I've noticed others on the market let the largest volume of water go down to the wheels making them easier to pull.
On most foreign campsites and some British ones, the disposal point is a kind of "slop sink" arrangement or sometimes just a wc pan with no seat! The shape of the Waste Hog makes it difficult to safely and easily tip the waste because as the tank is tilted it slips. Sometimes the water would overshoot the sink or pan. The 45 litres is too heavy for one person to lift. There are no handles or lifting points to help get the 45 litre container up to the disposal position and nothing to help it stay safely on the edge.
When we mentioned problems to Pyramid we got no response. We're going to dump it and buy another make.

Much better than the well known alternative. The guage is a nice touch. The pull down shelf for adding other items is much better than alternatives, especially if transporting a cassette. I am delighted with this, liking it much more than previous (different brand) model.

Arrived promptly. Generous capacity. Makes other waste containers look small. Very useful indicator of how full it is. Easy to use and made from recycled material.

Great piece of kit
An excellent alternative and cheaper than the Wastemaster. Quieter to roll, although slightly heavier than its competitor. All in all a good sturdy piece of caravan equipment!
