1.0 out of 5 stars Poor 21 Feb 2011
It's hard to get a connection with this unit. I have it in our cellar and upstairs in the house (approx 5m tops). It's intermittent at best and usually doesn't work at all. I would have returned it if my wife hadn't thrown the boxes out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly 5 star 5 Nov 2011

Maybe I'm being a bit picky.
I was really pleased with this as it keeps my wife in contact with me since she has had to live downstairs following a severe stroke, and following a fall at 2 in the morning.
Everything is perfect, except I think the ON/OFF switch is a bit fiddly. I've got used to it now but can imagine someone with poor hand co-ordination finding it difficult.
AND (nothing to do with the operation of the units), despite checking the spec on this site and the manufacturer's site, nowhere did it say whether the system is mains or battery!!

(It's mains operated, by the way)

Good idea but not reliable despite changing channels. Thought that connecting to the mains would give a better quality and stronger signal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Works but leaves a lot to be desired 3 Jan 2013

The sound is quite distorted and the microphones not very sensitive. There is also mains hum if you turn it up very loud. The switching "clunk" is the loudest thing and is very distracting. The mains cable is very thick (far thinker than it needs to be) and won't lie flat.

Overall, it functions but using it is frankly unpleasant. I'm looking for something better and as soon as I find it I'll chuck this.

For some reason these devices have big thick white wires like you might get on a high wattage fire which spolit their looks. When plugged in I found there performance intermittent at best. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didnt despite being on the same ring main. On occassions they worked on a different ring main..weird. To summarise, unreliable for a 35 product

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless
Only works when I plug it in the same room. It has a range of about 3 metres in my bungalow. Maybe I will try it in someone else house to check.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Noisy
I needed this for the workshop in the garden which is about 25m away from the house. It works but we could only get it to work on 1 of the 4 channels and it is very noisy. Read more
