All eleven episodes of the Japanese anime about life in a dystopian future world. Even though Japan has been rescued from financial meltdown by the intervention of the Sovereign Wealth Fund, daily life remains gloomy. Wishing nothing more than to escape the poverty and despair on the streets, Kimimaro (voice of Todd Haberkorn), a high school student, eagerly accepts when a stranger offers him a chance to make some easy money. But his destiny is soon changed forever when he finds himself immersed in the world of 'The Financial District', a supernatural battleground where money is the ultimate prize. The episodes are: 'Complication', 'Coincidence', 'Conspiracy', 'Conversion', 'Cultivation', 'Conflict', 'Composition', 'Confidence', 'Collapse', 'Collision' and 'Control'.

Kimimaro Yoga is a college student who is always very careful with his money and works two part time jobs to get by. One night he is approached by the mysterious and eccentric Masakaki, a representative of the Midas Bank who offers Kimimaro the chance to make more money than he could via normal means by joining the other chosen Entrepreneurs (or Entres for short) in the supernatural world of The Financial District. In the Financial District Entres fight each other with the power of money and a monstrous Asset created from their future that they have to put up as collateral when joining. People can make millions in the Financial District but the consequences of losing can be disastrous in the real world.

Much like 'Spice & Wolf' (which I haven't seen) and the more recent 'Maoyuu Maou Yuusha', '[C] - Control' (or '[C] - The Money of Soul & Possibility Control' if you prefer its full title) is an anime about economics but despite the subject matter it is still a nicely made and entertaining anime. The series is quite short at just eleven episodes but I don't think that the plot was all that rushed so this was probably the right length, even if there are some slightly confusing elements to the plot. There probably is enough scope for a sequel series at some point and while I would definitely be interested if there was one, I think the story is fine as it is. There are a few characters that probably could have done with a little more in the way of development but the main characters are generally well developed enough.

The animation for the series is very well done with some beautiful scenery and some good battle scenes. There are a few places where the CGI doesn't really go very well but these are mostly minor irritations.

I love the concept for this anime, but after that it just goes down hill. With the blatant over use of the same 3d models, cliff hangers that are glossed over in the next episode and horribly cheap plot devices, it's obvious that whoever had c (control) had no b (budget) for either animators or writers.

It's a pity, I can see where this could have been excellent, but after the third time c for control sets up an enthralling scenario and then completely ruins it all I felt was frustration.
