I need to transfer quite large files and some memory sticks are painfully slow when writing to it. This one is at least 4 times faster on the same pc as any of my other ones doing a 64 MByte file in 5 secs. Also has Win98 drivers which is handy. Did have one USB port on a W2K pc which wouldn't recognise it but I think this was a problem with the port not the stick.

I believe if a product is still working after going through washing machine and tumble drier, which happened to me a couple of days ago, then it must be a quality one. Judge for yourself.

Having bought 2 of these for the kids' in-car DVD players, I wholeheartedly agreed with all of the positive reviews. The ability to have colour-coded memory sticks ensures that Pingu and Thomas the Tank engine reach the appropriate offspring effortlessly! I have had no read/write snags and the sticks appear durable enough - although I do agree with the 3* comment regarding the design of the cap; but at least with the hoop-design of these sticks you can attach a small lanyard between the stick and its cap to avoid unecessary hours searching under car seats! Finally, as with any Memory Stick, the max available storage space is slightly 'less than advertised' - so plan accordingly. Can't fault them.

This drive is excellent, good value, reliable and very robust, I have carried mine with me for the last year whilst working abroad in some of the most dangerous places on the planet and it has never let me down. Unlike some of those more expensive drives bought by my colleaugues and comrades.

Now I have returned home I am sending a number of these out to my friends still overseas.

Nice one Bytestore!

5 Stars are not really enough for this great product.

I already had a 16Gb Dataferry drive and it has been faultless. At less than £10, when I needed something to store all my photos on, this little flash drive has been perfect!!

Bought this ByteStor 8 GB USB stick end of January 2008. It stopped working in October, just giving me about 2-3 days warning time (and fuzzy behaviour - I couldn't always delete files). After those 2-3 days I could no more write to, delete, or reformat it. 8 months usage was a bit short indeed. I changed make and upgraded to 16 GB.

This 8GB memory stick is great value for money. 8GB is plenty of storage for all your mobile needs, in fact it could even be used as a mini external hard drive to store photos or music.
Build quality is also very good, this could be easily be dropped and I wouln't expect any damage to occur, the casing is very sturdy.
A great buy at a great price from Amazon, can't go wrong.

Good value 8gb flash drive, I've used it for transferring documents, music and video and never had a problem. I've only owned it for a few months so you'd expect good performance from a new device. Only time will tell how it goes a year down the track.
