    Amazon Verified Purchase
For those looking to upgrade the same machine, this module was bought to improve the drastically poor performance of a Microstar/Medion Laptop model MID2020 / MD41060, which originally came fitted with 128MB of internal memory. There's a SODIMM slot under the hatch on the bottom about which there is no info in the manual, but a call to their tech support led me to order the module being commented on here. Incidentally the machine's original (internal) memory is also a removable SODIMM, although it's a bit harder to get at (in a lidded cavity under the machine's keyboard).

It's pretty hard to review a memory module - it either works or it doesn't, but it totally transformed the performance of the machine it was bought for and so far has worked faultlessly. You can't get better than that. So why four stars and not five?

The actual module supplied (By 'Whicher' through Amazon's marketplace in my case) turned out to be branded 'Adata' when it arrived, and this is the second time that Amazon have done this to me (the previous case was a 'Bytestor' CF card which wasn't Bytestor either). I think that Amazon ought to be a little more militant about this, and insist that what we see is what we get, or that we should be contacted by the supplier first if the goods differ at all from those ordered.

This memory card is excellent value and good quality.

I upgraded my Apple Powerbook from 512MB to 1GB and have noticed I can open all the applications I need without any slowdown, it also starts quicker than before.

If you have a PC or Apple laptop, at this price you have no excuse, upgrade now!

    just what i needed 21 July 2006
I had an hp laptop running xp pro with 256 meg, when i used a memory watch program i noted that after loading which took it's time i only had 40-50 meg of memory left. the comp is used for excel, word, photo's, internet, music and to watch dvds (i had a lot of break-up). after fitting this memory, the comp loads faster, runs smoother, responds quicker and still leaves me with aprox 400 meg to spair for the dvds, this is the best ad-on that i have purchased, no problems with the fitting, fully working without any odd happenings. i recomend this module.
