Bought one 4 months ago, mainly because it took a CFL bulb.
However, it recently started doing the flashing on and off instead of going off with the timer.
Purchased another to save me refitting the backplate (for which I had already put some blu-tack behind the screws to make them stick out enough), but have put a standard 60W bulb in this time, as I read the different load from CFL bulbs can cause problems, even though the product literature states it can take CFL bulbs. Power use is not going to be significant if it works as designed anyway.
Do be aware that it takes E27, screw fitting bulbs, not the more standard bayonet type.
Working so far, will have to see if it lasts more than 4 months.
The second one last about 4 months as well, until it developed the same problem as the first. Since it is shown as having a 2 year warranty, I contacted Amazon customer services to see if anything could be done. They said it is not a fault they expect to happen and sorted it out admirably, immediately sending me another unit free of charge and reimbursing my cost of the first unit I bought. The unit is close to getting only two stars, but I have to give customer services 5 stars!
Even if my third unit only lasts 4 months, I'll have had 1 year's service out of the light(s) for a reasonable cost. Will I buy another if this one also fails? Probably not, may look for a better quality. Would I buy from Amazon again? Probably.
Third one didn't even make it to 4 months until it failed with the same symptoms. Down to 2 stars now. Don't hate it, just isn't worth buying at any price. Will look for another now...
