When on the first page of this book there was a date in 1995 I assumed it was a prologue, instead the whole book is set then while the boys are in collage. I realised afterwards that there are five books in the series bring it right up to date and I just love this idea! The story is set around two men, Nick who seems quite normal and well adjusted in all ways except he hasn't told anyone, not even himself really, that he is gay and Eric, who is as screwed up as Nick is normal but is "out". I really enjoyed the character dynamics in this book, the pair have far more issues with Eric's personality than they do with the whole "Nick not being out" which is actually a nice change for these kind of novels. Add in a girl who has been in love with Nick for years and you have a great story.
Really looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

Hmmm...I read this because after finishing Cut & Run, I was still in the mood for a little m/m romance. Unfortunately this didn't hook me as much and I was a little bored by the story line, that's not to say it was bad, because it isn't. It just didn't hold my attention as much as a thriller.

I've even had a nosy at the rest of the series and after reading the acknowledgements section after the story, I have to admire the author for her...balls? in writing a series that spans twenty years and involves the development of Eric and Nick's life's while involving a wife for one of them.

I'm not entirely sure if I'll continue it yet, but I'll certainly keep it in mind for the future.

This was a sweet story that I forgot that I had purchased before, the fact that it was free I think may have been part of the reason that I did. I would purchase this if you don't mind the fact it is about two guys and has some sexual content in it.

This was a really good read that entranced me so much I had to purchase the other 3 books to follow up with the storyline. The start of the book didn't really grab me as much as the middle section and the ending. Loved how the writer transitioned from uncertainty in Nick to acceptance and how he was able to change Eric's personality and view of life. This book is a real page turner and will keep you interested till the very end.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I experienced the characters to be basically childish and unconvincing. This book didn't do it for me on any level- are most seriously wealthy people genuinely thick and shallow as portrayed in the media and here?

the book was really good, I haven't put it down since I started it (literally) it shows how disturbed lives can be and how "well off peoples" can be difficult and that they can face the same issues that we do, all in all a great book with a lot of emotion.

I thought it wasn't a bad read but it was better the more I was reading the story wasn't bad either but towards the end it got a lot better, and so did the romance.
Would I tell everyone about this book I just don't know. I'll see how things go.

I enjoyed this book.
I liked the twist that happened at end with Eric and his family, and I loved the development of the relationship between Eric and Nick.
I think I'll look for the other books in this series.
