I'm 7½ months pregnant and until now I've spent many nights with a normal pillow propped under my bump and another between my knees desperately trying to take the weight off of my ribs and back and to not feel so strained in bed. I'm not very tall (5ft 3ins), and so being short-bodied my ribs are stretching painfully with the growing baby and it has been a nightmare in bed.
I've tossed and turned, got comfy for one minute and a pillow has slipped out - one movement changing all the pillows I'd positioned, all in all not a very comfortable night, I'm sure other pregnant ladies can relate to this!
I decided to look for a pregnancy pillow in the hope of a more comfy nights sleep.
The Genie (I think it's called) seems to be the biggest one on the market, but came in at a hefty £40 - £45 in the shops, WITHOUT a cover / pillowcase and for me that was just too much.
My boyfriend found me this 'Cuddle Me' pillow, here on Amazon at almost half the price and we decided to give it a try.
I LOVE IT!!!
When lying on your side it curls nicely around your back, goes under your arm and between your knees at either end and then the bits join at the front underneath the bump. This lifted my bump - taking away the strain and weight, the pillow being under my arm elevated my ribs just enough to relieve the pain I'd been experiencing and it supports the back nicely too.
I felt like I was lying in a comfy nest, made just for me, and for it to take away all of the aches and pains I'd been experiencing was a miracle!
The only possible thing I can find fault with is that it's slightly smaller than I imagined, so if you are a very tall lady it may not work so well for you.
But based on my experience I'd highly recommend this pillow, and now I don't know how I lived without it!!!!
