I read this book in two hours. It is nonbiased, easy to read and it covers all important aspects you should consider when investing overseas. I really liked the fact that it talks about all the negative aspects (which we all know exist but many people don't like to talk about). Things like `the bad estate agents', corruption or undeclared money are explained and tips on how to avoid them are given.
You get a good overview of the country, the people and most importantly the property market, best locations to invest in, how to buy, how to do your research, your due diligence, how to minimise the risks and so on. It talks about cheap property, renovation property, off plan, land; it really covers everything. This guy really knows his stuff. He also has a company here in London and I called their offices up. I was impressed! They seem very professional and can talk to you about Romania and the property market in depth. Most other companies I talked to who sell property in Romania didn't seem to have the general understanding of the market and couldn't answer my questions satisfactory. These people can tell you anything you want to know about different cities and compare different properties that are on the market.

The book was published in 2007. Since then the property market has changed significantly and the book now requires updating.

This book is packed with all the details you need to know before buying property or land in Romania. As well as looking at the positive elements it also looks at the problems and the risks and tells you how to manage the risks. Its really easy to read and provides a very balanced view of the opportunities available. It's also packed with really interesting facts about Romania and even gives some details of the food and wine. A very interesting read.
