I bought this book out of curiousity. For anyone seriously thinking about moving to Portugal I would recommend it highly. It's full of important information, and also provides the reader with useful website addresses for sites that are obviously a must to read before making a decision. I also found the case studies interesting, although I didn't recognise myself in any of them. However, the book is written in a very practical and no-nonsense way - an essential buy before taking the plunge.

The laws and red tape in Portugal are a nightmare, and many folks are too trusting and believe what they are told without finding out the answers for themselves. We did have luck on our side, but would definitely have liked the advised and easy to follow guidelines sets out in this books. I purchased the first edition too!

With laws changing all the time it's great to see an update to the original version. This book is an absolute must for all potential news owners in Portugal. The in depth detail will stop you making many of the mistakes people before you have made.
