Adam Walker makes a complex subject easy to understand. The book is extremely readable and interesting; I wish I had read it before buying houses in the past. It is divided into clear sections and has useful highlights for the most important information. A real must - it could save you a lot of money and mistakes.

This book provided all the information I needed to sucessfully buy a flat. When you tell friends your about to buy somewhere you hear a thousand horror stories of what can go wrong reading this helps avoid becoming one of those stories. This book details the process of buying and selling, what can go wrong, and advice with how to handle each stage. I am the only person I know who would recomend a solicitor and that is down to chosing him by using the advice in this book. If your going to buy, buy this first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Novice to knowledgeable 2 April 2004
Format:Paperback
This book is excellent! It is an under estimation to call it a step by step guide. This book outlines the whole house buying process from start to finish in easy to understand terms. Not only does it tell you what to do, but also how to do it. It is filled with case examples which highlight the pros and cons of differing decisions to be made. It describes in detail what must, could, and should happen in the buying process, together with tips and suggestions in case it doesn't. Importantly it also considers the effects of new legislation and how the current process will be affected by this. Prior to reading this book I found the house buying process to be daunting, but after reading it feel confident and enthusiastic about it. I wish I'd had this book many years ago when I bought my first home.
