5.0 out of 5 stars If your buying a business GET THIS BOOK, 15 Jun 2005
This review is from: Buying a Business and Making It Work: A Step-by-Step Guide to Purchasing a Business and Making It Successful (Paperback)
A very useful book which will make you aware of the potential pitfalls. I have purchased two businesses in the past and although they were good deals I could have capitalised on the purchase further with some guidance. I e-mailed Mark the author as he suggests and sure enough in a matter of hours he came back to me with some names I requested.

The cost of the book will be returned many many times over

On contemplating the purchase of now my business, I could not have done it without this book a constant point of reference and a lot of excellent tips that helped with planning and confidence building. Ideal for anyone with reading intellect there are not many diagrams and it needs concentration to get through it. Never the less a must have book if you are planning to go it alone.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you're looking to buy a British company, 25 Jan 2006
By Jason Frush - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Buying a Business and Making It Work: A Step-by-Step Guide to Purchasing a Business and Making It Successful (Paperback)
This book is written/published in the UK. Although nearly all of the principles apply to purchasing a business in the US, there are also several key points specific to US buyers that aren't discussed, such as SBA loans. Specific UK terms that a US buyer will have to translate include UK GAAP, VAT, PAYE, stamp duty, all issues dealing with tax, etc...

Otherwise a fine book.
