Product Description

Some of its pipes contemporary with Buxtehude, the Metzler organ of Trinity College Cambridge is a poweful ally in Herrick's ongoing cycle, adding fire to his rigour and clear-sightedness. **** --BBC Music Magazine,Nov'11

This is shapely playing, with a touch of humour, especially in the sprightly jigs.A thoroughly enjoyable production, with customary excellent documentation. --Gramophone,Nov'11

Christopher Herrick's performances in this series have breathed musical life into the rich repertoire of organ music by Buxtehude and this release is no exception. --IRR,Oct'11

5.0 out of 5 stars Buxtehude Volume 4 12 Oct 2011
By James Wright III - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Every organ enthusiast should have all four of these in his collection (as well as future volumes). Buxtehude is an ignored composer, but was such a great organist that Bach walked for four days to hear him play.
