Product Description

He hid the old pencil-drawn map for 40 years.

The guards never found it.

After 40 years in San Quentin, Luke Palmer leaves with a state-issued suit, $100 dollars to buy a bus ticket, and a map that will lead to a promise and into the heart of a dark forest.

"The Butterfly Forest is a high-octane thriller that is part mystery, part love story, and full bore great storytelling that you'll think about days after you've left the woods."
- John Davenport (Orlando, FL)

College graduate student Molly Monroe is about to release rare butterflies not far from where the FBI used 4,000 bullets in a shootout to kill Ma Barker and one of her gangster sons in 1935. Molly snaps a picture that will frame something she never sees coming.

Sean O'Brien does see something -- a predator. Between the sea of cars in a Walmart parking lot. Walking quickly. Stalking two women.

As O’Brien tries to prevent the abduction, he opens the door to a new relationship. And he opens a dark door to a horror that is secluded within the forest. He follows veiled tracks that lead him farther into the woods where an evil from the past intersects with a frightening presence to form a volatile trap with only one way out.

"ABSOLUTELY MESMERIZING!!!!!"
- Anthony B. Thomas (Louisville, KY)

"If you like the works of writers like Lee Child, Robert Crais, James Lee Burke and Michael Connelly, you'll enjoy Tom Lowe's THE BUTTERFLY FOREST."
- Aaron Winters (Miami, FL)

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting plot 26 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Can be read as a stand alone, but backstory from previous books in the series do help you understand the main character. Well written, good storyline and a few twists and turns make this a good read. Why not 5 stars; formulaic.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real thriller with violent action 24 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Starting the book it wasn't clear where the plot was heading. But it soone became clear that there were intended to be diversions and false clues. I enjoyed the tale albeit it was quite violent in parts and reflected some of the worst characteristics of criminal activities in the USA. Some surprises along the way and a satisfactory ending which made it more of a page turner as one went along.

A free download book, not one I would have picked up in a bookshop, a thoroughly good read. Will have to keep my eye out for more by this author. Really enjoyed the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Series 9 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
It's very rare these days to find a series of books that makes you want to continue reading them until you have finished them all, and then wish there were more.
Tom Lowe's Sean O'Brien books however is one of those series.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all 4 and although I read them out of sequence (4,3,1,2) I don't really think this spoiled anything.
The central character is very well put together as are the reoccurring friends.
The story lines are tight and book 2 had me on the edge of my seat right until the end.
I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys the Jack Reacher series and maybe the Ben Hope series as well. You may also want to try the Matt Drake series by David Leadbeater but they MUST be read in order.
Unfortunately I have now read all of the available books in this series and would implore Mr Lowe to get writing number 5. Really can't wait. Entertaining and enjoyable fair. Many many more please.

Thoroughly good read. I've read all the Sean O'brien books and he has become a favourite character for me. I now look forward to the next one. Always well written and often 'unputdownable'

4.0 out of 5 stars review 5 April 2013

Good book. Interesting start with a scene setting chapter that apparently has no bearing on the next chapter and the start of the whole story line. Good well paced writing and enjoyable book
