Format:Audio CD
For his follow up to the excellent Su-Ling album,alto saxist and flautist Finn Peters has taken several progressive leaps to create an album of serene beauty and elegance.Gone are the elements of funk,dance music and straight ahead jazz and in come shimmering backdrops,synth effects and mystical soundscapes with Peter's splendid flute reigning supreme over the whole album.In fact the alto sax really doesn't get much of a look in here with the focus being on sounds,moods and textures rather than the harder edged sound of the "Su-Ling" album.There is much beautiful music to be heard here and none better than the stunning "Ottanta" with its smooth electric funk and stunning flute riffs.Definitely a departure from his previous recording but shows depth,complexity amd maturity from a thinking mans muscician.Wonder what he'll do next ?
