Copy editing wasn't too high on my list when I came to Falmouth University to do a Masters degree in Professional Writing. The more I got involved with the editing side of things though, the more I began to see the opportunities, and this book is proving very useful in helping me to master the art.

Great a book like this on Kindle but without a hyperlinked index it is only interesting rather than useful.

The writing style for this book is quite old-fashioned. I found myself reading some sentences two or three times. For example, I had trouble understanding who uses which colour ink on a proof copy. It shouldn't be that complicated. Shorter sentences would probably help. Diagrams showing the various stages of book publication would be helpful for those who are new to the publishing.
I think the book could be written in a more up-to-date, accessible style without being dumbed down. It contains valuable information, but it takes some effort to plough through text.
