When I first heard Apocalyptica live I thought that was the most new metal sound ever but this is awesome. Diablo Swing Orchestra are the best and freshest band I've ever ever heard. The opening track Balrog Boogie sets the scene and so much better than Nightwish. My favourite track is Ragdoll physics but listen, buy and enjoy.

Just buy it now!

Having heard only Balrog Boogie on a free CD with a well-known music magazine, I was intrigued. The said track is awesome!!! It does want to make you do something with your body, though quite what I do not know. It reminds me of Glen Miller, Fat Boy Slim's seminal video with Christopher Walken dancing, and some tongue-in-cheek horror movie who's title I cannot remember. It is swing but it also metal. If it isn't, then I will be disowned. If Korpiklaani make you smile and jump-around, then this may well also. It is FUN, it is swing and it is metal. The full album is on it's way to me and I looking forward to it more than anything else this year. 3 stars only because I have yet to hear the rest of the tracks. I am positive that it will increase to 4 or even the (should be hard to attain) 5.

Any fans of stuff like Cardiacs and Naked City and Mr Bungle - like myself - desperately googling for new music should forever after be able to find this tirelessly amusing and excellent album because of what I right here have just written.

Not five-star perfect - tad Muse/Evanescensey in parts (I don't like them see) - but think of that spliced with Koenjihyakkei and... I dunno... Calixeco or something... and fun, and you get something like this. Which is good I reckon.

Scratch that, awesome.

Acquire.

Operatic singing, classical sounds with a heavy rock feel.
Different but well done and accessible. Lets hope they can keep it up for album 2.
