I've just re-read The Butcher of Glastonbury and The Death Prayer by the same author. David Bowker is an extremely talented writer and both books are exceptionally good. They are police crime fiction with a supernatural twist and highly original. I thought these 2 books would become part of a popular series featuring the main character Laverne but sadly David Bowker hasnt written any more to date. These are the type of book which I hate to finish as theyre just so good. Come on David, please write some more!!

This is a very good thriller, but I wish the author had not added the supernatural flavour. After all why would be a Hindu Goddess come to earth at Glastonbury where Gwyn ap Nudd the Celtic hunting God has his halls beneath the Tor. Surely it would be a Celtic Goddess and if you needed someone in the Kali mode, The Morrigan would be the one. But as a thirller the book works well and is an interesting read for all that.
