Bill Maher is hilarious. I've already got RELIGULOUS and I'M NOT SWISS with the former dvd a brilliant documentary mocking religion.
I'M NOT WRONG is very funny with Maher making fun of Sarah Palin, Michael Jackson, the Tom Cruise et al cult Scientology and much more.
He's a genius.

HASH(0x94463924) out of 5 stars saw it live 6 Dec. 2010

I was at this show, and loved it. Obviously, I am a fan, or I would not have bought tickets.
Interesting thing about the show - it happened on Feb 13, the day after a massive snow storm moved over the entire state. But the show was sold out.
I know some complained about Maher not being as funny as he once was. And though this may be somewhat true, I have to say that I didn't go because I was expecting a laugh a minute evening. Maher isn't exactly a comic anymore. He is a commentator who uses satire to make his points. And I tend to agree with many of them. This wasn't the blue collar comedy tour, this wasn't Robin Williams. This was Bill Maher, doing an extended version of what he does on his HBO show. And that's what I like.

HASH(0x959c5804) out of 5 stars Not What Bill Maher Used To Be 29 Nov. 2014
By Steve Thomas - Published on
If you like Bill Maher, this is about average for him.

Sturgeon's Law says 95% of science fiction - indeed, 95% of everything is crap. It's true because our standards are established by the truly excellent, and since it's impossible to maintain an above-average average, the average seems pretty bad.

Early in his career, Maher was a breath of fresh air, or at least, air we hadn't smelled before. Now that he no longer surprises us, he's merely opinionated, and in a mildly amusing way, but nothing to write home - or an Amazon review - about.

It could be a lot worse. There's Fox News. But it's not what Maher used to be.

HASH(0x95434444) out of 5 stars Exciting and enjoyable if you agree with his politics. 25 Sept. 2015

Mildly entertaining, but continues to be mostly Mr. Maher's political statements thinly veiled as comedy. I enjoy comedy for relaxation and entertainment, but when it is a beginning to end statement of (either) one or the other party's views, it really just is more of a bash session. Also, the discussion is very relevant to a certain point in time and history.

Kind of bitter, kind of depressing, as he never really offers a 'fix', just a bash. It's vaguely reminiscent of the latter George Carlin routines.

You will laugh for a while if you agree with his politics; not so much if you don't. And, this particular one is more of a history lesson than anything current.

HASH(0x9446312c) out of 5 stars Soap-box stance softens humor. 30 Mar. 2015

Bill Maher is one of the smartest comedians around and I was entertained by this special. His jokes are aimed mostly at Republicans and that was probably the only issue I had with it. That his act was not entirely objective and a lot of it was soap-box material. But the jokes that were less political and more universal really hit home and were effective. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a laugh, but to someone prepared to be lectured as well.

HASH(0x95d8d6b0) out of 5 stars I couldn't even finish it. 23 Aug. 2015

I wonder what he thinks when he sees this performance now? His performance is just foreboding in hypocrisy. Religion he has a point, but nothing funny or even humorous. One phrase kinda sums him up in general. You can't see the forest from the trees.
