Product Description

Product Description

In this thoroughly entertaining collection of acerbic put-downs, witty one-liners, blatantly honest appraisals of terrified contestants, and even catty comments on his fellow judges, the controversial big mouth speaks on subjects as diverse as music, dance, show business, political correctness, romance, fashion, himself, and his trousers. Whether he's telling a naive hopeful that they sound like a kitten mewing, they look as if they've been dragged through a bush or are merely pleasant, safe and a little insipid, Cowell's trademark comebacks are collected here for the first time. Covering the early years with insults to his family and schoolteachers, the jibes to first bosses at work, then the sharp retorts to aspiring stars on television and his critiques of the rich and famous, this book gathers his most well-known lines - and plenty of long-forgotten ones, too! With quotes from his admirers and enemies, and a section on how to speak fluent vitriol like the master, this is the ultimate handbook for getting ahead.

About the Author

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr Nasty, 3 Mar 2006
By A Customer
If you're a fan of Simon or not, this is a brilliant collection of one liners and putdowns. I think it's one of those perfect "loo" books that you can pick up, put down and revisist.
I love the how to be rude section- and it is so true when it says that there are people who either want to be Simon or are in love with him..I'm not telling which camp I fall into.
A really entertaining read and a great reminder why he got the title Mr Nasty.....so very rude!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You reap what you sow!!!! , 16 Nov 2006

(REAL NAME)
Well what can be said about this man, rude blatantly crude and offensive the type you would not want to take home to the family? I don't think so, a real softy underneath and nice man. He is honest with his criticism and blatantly so, people should not confuse honestly with rudeness and opinion with personal assault. A book that will get you laughing and also a few antidotes you want to repeat to others. You either hate or respect this man, I personally respect his honestly lets face it, he is a judge in a talent contest no good being nice, nice wont bring in the pennies to a disillusioned cat whiner. But equally his book would not sell if he did not have the notoriety through his television serious as it blatantly sounds like a whinny cat in the world of literature. Yes "meow" from me wish I had his notoriety and maybe my book would be a best seller. Any way I would recommend this book for those who want a good fun read.
