5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Phelings on 14 Sept. 2011
Excellent series .I enjoyed it at the time and even saved it to vhs and copied the recordings to dvd when it seemed like it would never come out.
After the first series there was some concern at ITV that the ratings didn't do as well as expected but they gave it another go and finished the story off with another series of 6 episodes. Unfortunately Neils trustee changed so we lost Geraldine Alexander and Phyllis Logan bowed out too and in came Belinda Lang as Neils wife .
The stories started to become a bit farcical in places but it was still enjoyable and nice to see Neil get out of bankruptcy at the end of the series.
I'd like some nice dvd quality versions of series two but if Paul Nicholas does a commentary he needs to watch some before doing it because his commentary on the first series episode was possibly the worst I've ever heard because he was clearly unprepared although he did sound like he'd watched a few before he did the onscreen interview .

Was great to watch this series again, Paul Nicholas was brilliant as always playing a bit of a Jack the lad character Would recommend to anyone who likes a mixture of wit and not too serious drama. Product arrived before expected delivery date always a bonus!

Agreed with the first reviewer that this is an excellent series. As I remember they certainly made another series and maybe more. Just hope the second series is released as well.

This series is excellant, we really enjoyed watching it despite its age. Very true to life I imagine. Was disappointed that there is no 2nd series, am not sure if one was ever made? Anyway it was really good.

Took a chance on this when the price was right and am glad I did so. We thoroughly enjoyed it as much as we did all those years ago. Really wish series two were available.

not a very inspiring dvd.Paul Nicholas seemed to be miscast. It may been better if it had been marketed with the 2nd series.Apart from that.., the package arrived in good working order and well within the time stated.
