This is more than just a listing of great golf courses, although it is jammed with great places to play. The book offers a travel-guide approach to golf. It is written for the business traveler on the road with a half-day to kill, or for those unlucky enough to visit non-golfing in-laws. It's for the best man at a wedding with free time before the rehearsal dinner. Or for any golfer who finds him or herself in a strange city looking for a nearby place to tee it up. If you're on the road and want to golf, Business Traveler's Guide to Golf takes the worry out of logistics. Time spent wasted wondering and questioning is a thing of the past. It offers quick access to fine public courses in major metropolitan areas from coast to coast. Quickly and simply, the out-of-town golfer can answer these vital questions: * Which courses in this town are worth playing? * Where is this course relative to the airport or downtown? * How do I get there? * Can I rent clubs, is there a driving range, restaurant, locker room? * How much does it cost to play? Business Traveler's Guide to Golf includes extensive information on airports, taxi, limo and bus services, and also offers detailed maps with pin-pointed locations of courses in each of the 38 metropolitan areas covered. There are more than 1,000 courses listed, and more than 80 courses featured with breathtaking photos, stories, scorecard information, etc. Every course in the book is open to the public. This book is designed in a reader-friendly manner with information that can get you from the airport terminal to the first tee by saying one word, 'Taxi.' There are plenty of golf guides on the market, but this one is unique in that it deals with the details of getting to and from the course with no worries.Read more ›

I was in the bookstore wondering to get for my friend. A golf neophyte, he finds the sport both rewarding and relaxing. He once told me that golf was the perfect game and sport because, ''you aren't competing against your friends, you're competing agianst yourself." This was the perfect book for him and anyone who respects the game. Golf can be so very relaxing and it's nice to have a book that tells you where the fun is. I also enjoyed the book because it was easy to follow and inexpensive. This is a great Father's Day gift as well. Bravo.

At one time or another, any avid golfer is traveling...but wants to still be able to get in that golf game. What a great way to guide golfers to the courses on their route! One can tell that much research went into this book to offer the golfer all the information needed to handily find a course when they are traveling. Well written, very organized, helpful, insightful...no golfer could ask for more when it comes to locating a course while they are on the go!

Perfect fit for your briefcase, your luggage or your golf bag. When I'm on business trips, I'm hurried to get from one meeting to my next. But when my business meetings are over, this book points me in the direction of the nearest golf course or driving range. It even gives me prices, time from the airport or downtown and whether the course supplies rental clubs. It's going to be in my travel bag everytime I leave town.
