5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin - a great help 18 April 2013

I bought this last year and left a review via the Kindle app, but it has not appeared.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling getting their plan together in a concise clear format without using all the jargon and bewildering phrases that typically sprout from the mind of a business owner starting out on a venture (or adventure) of starting their own business, or changing their business direction.

Matthew's book really helped me establish what it is my business does, where I want it to go and how I want to get there. It allowed me to get all those thoughts and ideas in to one document that truly is as simple to follow as a business plan should be.

4.0 out of 5 stars Business Plans - A Useful Primer 19 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A concise and thought provoking guide to how to approach your first business plan. This book is clearly not meant to be a detailed template of what goes where but rather a gentle encouragement to think about the "why" with a high-level introduction to the "how". This should convince the reader of the importance of a business plan and set them in the right direction. I would have liked to see some discussion around tactical versus strategic in here and maybe a paragraph about 'soft' or 'fuzzy' objectives as discussed in the authors blog. Also, the risk section is a little light and perhaps 'testing your plan' would be more appropriately titled 'validating your plan'. Overall I would have to say a good beginners guide with room for future updates.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction to business plans 17 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I like the back to basics approach it takes. Really simple and effective and a good place to start for the price. If you want to go really in-depth then there are plenty more resources that may be more appropriate.
