Book Description

5 Feb 2009 019954445X 978-0199544455
This textbook is the ideal companion to any first business law course for the non-lawyer. It covers a broad range of legal topics that impact on businesses and approaches them in a methodical way. Each area of the law is analysed for its relevance to the business world, the key terminology is introduced and the relevant statutes and case law are analysed. Whilst a high level of referencing, footnoting and legal accuracy is maintained, the particular needs of the business student are addressed in the learning features employed, the accessible layout and two colour design, and the wealth of online resources that offer self-assessment opportunities.

Review

Review(s) from previous edition "I am impressed with this serious attempt to produce a business law textbook of substance with an emphasis on case law - Pat Lloyd-Jones, Lecturer in Business Law, Swansea University"The style is very readable and approachable, whilst maintaining good legal methodology. The main strengths are this style and coverage of areas such as EU law in such a user-friendly manner" - Janet Wilson-Ward, Lecturer in Law, University of Bath"The author has conveyed some difficult concepts and detail with an 'easy' clarity. The case discussions are good and more detailed than in other texts; they bring facts to life and put them into a business context" - Michael Connolly, Lecturer in Law, University of Surrey --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book 5 Oct 2009
By Sparkle
Format:Paperback
I was recommended this book as part of my studies at University and I'm really pleased with it. It contains all the information that i needed for my business law course (I'm an accounting student) and it is explained in a really easy to understand way (this from someone who has never studied law before). I also liked the companion website - especially the answers to the end of chapter questions. This has really helped my understanding of the topics. If you're looking for a book to help you with your business law course i would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best digested with an iced tea. 23 Nov 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Being a lazy student, i always leave studying and revision to the last possible minute! Having an exam on the friday, i bought this on the wednesday. It arrived on thursday and i more or less ate the book the night before! Still managed a cheeky 2:1 for the module though. Cheers book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for first timers in business law 24 May 2011
Format:Paperback
I am taking course F4 on the ACCA and this book gives the much needed understanding of the subject. It provides proper background information on UK corporate and business law. I will definitely recommend it for first timers on the course and accounting students like me.
