Product Description

Review

"Written in a student-friendly and easily accessible style, this comprehensive text provides an invaluable guide to the law regulating business in the UK. It explains diverse areas of legal regulation with impressive clarity and has rightly become an essential read and reference point for those undertaking any business law course."

Karen Davies, School of Law, Swansea University

"A clear, informative, succinct and up to date text, with useful chapter summaries. The authors have successfully pitched the material considered at the appropriate level for non-law students. Very readable and easy-to-understand, with a user-friendly layout. Invariably popular with students, especially those for whom English is not the first language, who appreciate the simple and uncomplicated style and generous use of headings."

Anne Argent, Essex Business School, University of Essex

Product Description

Business Law offers comprehensive coverage of the key aspects of business law in a straightforward manner that is easy to understand for non-law students.

It describes and considers the full range of legal topics such as Contract, Company and Employment Law, as well as including coverage of emerging areas such as Health and Safety and Environmental Law as they apply to business. Including all the recent major developments in the law such as the Companies Act 2006 the Lisbon Treaty, new regulations on Consumer Protection and the impact of environmental and climate change regulation on businesses, Business Law is one of the most up-to-date textbooks available today.

Key learning features include:

  • diagrams and tables to illustrate key principles and interrelationships between topics;
  • key cases boxes which highlight landmark cases for ease of reference;
  • revision summaries at the end of each chapter to help clarify the key points to focus on for each topic;
  • an attractive two-colour text design which aids easy understanding and quick referencing.

Primarily designed for undergraduates on business courses, Business Law will also be suitable for all those who need to study the law relating to business as part of their main course.

I am an ACCA student and I have never touched on the law side of accountancy before. I found this book very useful as the questions were very easy to take in and understand instead of them being in techinical jargon even though the book has been written by experienced law lecturers who are themselves examiners. You are guided by excellent question plans and the answers once again are very easy to follow and take in and very understandable!! I found a lot of useful info from the book and has helped me a great deal in my studying.

The questions are split up into different sections:
-Sources of Law
-The Law of Contract
-Sale of Goods
-Negligence
-Individual Employment Rights
-Agency
-Partnership
-Company Law
-Negotiable Instruments & Consumer Credit

Although the book was cheap, I didn't expect to see so many markings inside the book, which makes it rather difficult for me to use. There were curry stains over quite a few pages and the condition was worst than previously described. I wouldn't buy another book from this seller.
